Do not use Areza Medical Island Wound Dressing (Bordered Gauze) on patients with known sensitivity to any of its components. Do not use on third-degree burns. Single Use Only. Do not reuse or re-sterilize. Do not use if pouch is damaged or open. Non-waterproof, water resistant. Water and liquid can pass through the adhesive fabric backing, but the central non-adherent, viscose fiber pad may delay the water or liquid to reach the inside layer of the dressing. The dressing may need to be changed if it is wet from external liquids. Colored liquids, such as urine, can discolor the outside of the dressing. For fragile skin, it is recommended to prepare the skin with commercial skin protectors on the areas where the adhesive tape will be applied before its application. If needed, use medical adhesive (glue) remover to remove the adhesive residues on the skin. Do not use soap, alcohol or other chemicals to remove glue residues. Do not scratch the skin to remove glue residues.

Directions
1. Cleanse the wound with sterile saline or another cleansing solution and pat dry. 2. Position the central non-adherent absorbent pad onto the wound’s surface. Gently press down the adhesive border onto the clean and dry periwound skin. 3. Secondary dressing not required. 4. Change the dressing as needed or as instructed by wound care provider. 5. To remove: Remove carefully to avoid damaging the periwound skin. If the wound appears dry, saturate the dressing with sterile saline water prior to removal. If needed, use medical adhesive (glue) remover to remove the adhesive residues on the skin. Do not use soap, alcohol, or other chemicals to remove glue residues. Do not scratch the skin to remove glue residues.

Product Description
Non-adherent layer
The non-adherent layer is a thin, fenestrated polyurethane film that faces and lays down on top of the wound’s surface. It separates the absorbent layer from the wound’s surface to prevent adherence between these two. The fenestrated (porous) structure facilitates exudate passage to the absorbent layer.
Absorbent layer
The absorbent layer, which is composed of viscose fiber, is found under the fenestrated, non-adherent layer that prohibits its direct contact with the wound’s surface. Invitro measurements yield an absorption capacity of 15mL, making this dressing suitable as a primary dressing for wounds with mild exudate.
Adhesive layer
The adhesive layer is composed of medical grade Henkel glue and is adhered onto a Spunlace, nonwoven fabric mesh. Note: Adhesive layer should only be applied onto normal, healthy skin around the wound.
Backing layer
The backing layer consists of a soft, white, breathable Spunlace, nonwoven fabric mesh made of polyurethane, with water resistance capabilities. The backing also functions as a barrier to dust and bacterial contamination when it is dry.

The central pad is composed of a non adherent layer with an absorbent layer beneath it. The adhesive border is to lay on top of normal skin around the wound.
Absorption Capacity
In-vitro measurements yield an absorption capacity of ~15mL, making this dressing suitable as a primary dressing for wounds with mild exudate.
Water Resistant / No water proof
Water resistant dressing delays, but does not restrict, passing of liquid through the backing layer. Delay may range from 5 minutes plus, depending on the amount of fluid. This dressing is not water, shower, or swimming proof. Do not submerge.
Where island dressing (bordred gauze) can be used?
Areza Medical Island Wound Dressing may be used as a primary dressing as its central pad may be placed directly on the wound’s surface.
Areza Medical Island Wound Dressing may be used as a secondary dressing to secure another primary dressing (which is directly on the wound) in place.
IMPORTANT PRECAUTIONS
To reduce the risk of skin damage, apply a skin protectant (spray or pad) to normal, healthy skin around the wound where the adhesive layer is to land, before using Island Wound Dressing.
To reduce the risk of skin damage during removal, medical adhesive remover applied directly to the skin at the edge of and under the adhesive layer is highly recommended for an easier
removal of the dressing.
Fragile skin
For better results on fragile skin make sure to apply a skin protectant (spray or pad) to normal, healthy skin around the wound where the adhesive layer is to land.

Remove if any signs of maceration are noticed.

EASY TO USE
1.
After prepping the wound and skin around it, remove the release sheet from one half of the dressing to reveal half of the adhesive layer.
2.
With the central pad over the wound, place the exposed adhesive border onto normal skin around the wound.
3.
While securing the first half in place with one hand, remove the remaining release sheet.
4.
Lower the remaining adhesive border onto normal skin and gently press down on entire adhesive border to adhere properly to the skin.
